Bernice Johnson Reagon

Reagon (1942-2024) was an African American singer, professor, and activist. Active in SNCC and the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Reagon helped found the SNCC Freedom Singers in the early 1960s, The Harambee Singers, and Sweet Honey in the Rock in 1973. She was born and raised in Georgia and spent much of her later life in Washington DC.
