Indigo Girls are a US indie folk duo consisting of Amy Ray & Emily Saliers. They began performing together while attendging the same high school near Decatur, Georgia. They began performing together as Indigo Girls while they were both attending Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and they remain based in that area.
They won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 1990.
They are social justice activists & openly lesbians, although not a romantic couple.
